When's a Dozen Not a Dozen?

When is a dozen eggs not a dozen eggs?
When it's ever so cleverly labelled with 10 eggs.

To the left of the red tick it's "clearly" labelled 10 eggs.

I didn't notice that I was 2 short of my dozen when I first opened the carton but it soon became apparent when I wasn't able to fill the egg container in the fridge.  How could I be 2 eggs short?  And then I counted ...

What the ... ?

Oh you deceptive dozen, you may have fooled me once with your schmick packaging, inflated price and free range-eco-organic blah blah, but you won't trick me again!

  4. Liana (Miss 8) was told to count the eggs by her father as she was putting them in the fridge. She says "there is 10"

He said "No there is not, you are counting wrong, count again"
    "Dad, there is 10"
    "Dont be silly, count again"
    She starts crying....

Seems he bought the same brand and there were only 10 and he made it up to her with lots of treats for days he felt so bad!
