Trash & Treasure

Here is another thing I love about Melbourne. Tomorrow is Hard Rubbish Collection Day by our local council. Now I know this isn't an unique phenomenon to Melbourne, but down here, at least in our council area, hard rubbish days occur at least twice a year and I LOVE them. There is something very cathartic about throwing things away that are cluttering your space, and possibly your life.

Yesterday we gathered up some items & put them out on the footpath and it never ceases to amaze me how quickly items disappear from the collection pile. Missing from yesterdays pile is an old suitcase, a rickety foot stool & several glasses from the cardboard box you can see.

The saying is really true; what is one persons trash, is anothers treasure.
